Tahmoor's new Lifeline Shop
When the opportunity of a bigger shop for Lifelines Tahmoor shop became available, we moved quickly to view the shop. There were a lot of shop fittings still there and I thought ‘wow this is great about double the size of our old shop.’ We agreed to the move and the ominous job of packing up begun. Over the next few weeks I became a little apprehensive thinking will Lifelines Tahmoor shop do better in a back Street, will I cope with a bigger shop?? Will we lose customers? The day came when we finally began our move, the first job wa s to put up the wall racking in the now humongous empty shop!!! My goodness, how it had grown now it was empty!!! My first thought when I saw it was ‘this is so big how am I going to fill this shop?' It was sooooo much bigger than I thought. It now takes around an hour to vacuum argh… I will never do it at home now!
We had planned to move into Lifelines new shop during a week at the end of August, and then have grand opening beginning of Sept. But the old Lifeline shop had become so slow it was pointless remaining open. So Friday 14th August we packed and emptied the shop in 25 mins!!! There were 10 of us; it was like a production line of little ants raiding the picnic basket! It was amazing. Thanks to Lenny, Larry, Geoff, Michael, from the depot, Sharon, Clare, Rachael, & Zowie from Tahmoor Shop, Michelle from Bargo shop and Leah a friend of Rachael’s. We were so quick to empty the shop that I still get customers saying they thought we had done a midnight flit!
What a bomb at the other end though there was stuff everywhere, but with all the wonderful helpers it didn’t take too long to get Lifeline Tahmoor’s new shop looking great.
We have added 10 extra clothing racks, 6 shelving units and we can now also fit in a dozen or so pieces of furniture without feeling claustrophobic.
We receive so m any positive comments from our customers on a daily basis. It is so good to know that they too are as pleased with the shop as we are. I feel I am finally happy with the way the Tahmoor's new Lifeline shop looks ( for this week any way) I don’t know how many times I had changed things around only to put it back where it was in the beginning. There are so many people I must thank, for without them this move would not have been as successful. Thank you to Joe and Spiro who came over many times to pull down wall racking, put up wall racking, move racking put up mirrors & change rooms. Thank You to Sue for all the extra stock she pulled out of thin air and for sending over the boys- Lenny, Larry, & Jeff when I am sure they were needed else where, for sending over Peter to put up some of the shelving out the back and my very noisy screen door (no ones getting in the back door without me knowing!) Thank you to Nada & Katrina for coming and getting some of the knick knacks out of the boxes and onto the shelves, Nada for organising the phones electricity, internet ect . I also want to thank my wonderful team here Clare Rachael Jean and now Colin without their help Lifelines Tahmoor shop would not be doing as well as it is … Thank you too you all for putting up with my ranting and if I have missed any one I am sorry. Love Sharon
